2025 Legislative Policies Wins
AB 55 which is the Freedom to Birth Act “Seeks to ensure that perinatal care for California’s families is more accessible by streamlining the onerous and unnecessary licensing requirements for Alternative Birth Centers, which function as barriers to equitable access to perinatal care. These barriers do not increase patient safety but instead limit access to high-quality maternal healthcare.”
AB 260 Sexual and Reproductive Health Care which “Seeks to protect and expand access to medication abortion in California regardless of potential federal actions attempting to roll back evidence-based health care that has been proven to be safe and effective for 25 years. Protects the legal use of mifepristone in this state, protects providers that legally provide mifepristone and expands access to reproductive health care via telehealth,” were signed into law by the governor.
