On Tuesday, November 4th, California will hold a Statewide Special Election. Voters will be asked: Yes or No on Proposition 50 (Prop. 50).The Trump administration is attacking our basic human rights, terrorizing our communities, and stripping away our healthcare and critical resources. Voting YES on Prop 50 is how we fight for our dignity, and our democracy. It’s how we protect reproductive justice, defend fair representation, and design a future where our communities thrive—not just survive.

Black Women for Wellness Action Project has developed this proposition and voter guide to support you with casting your vote. Whether and how we vote in this election has serious implications for the wellbeing of our communities. This guide breaks down exactly what is on the line this election and what your vote means for our rights. Our recommendations are a result of an analysis that centers Black women and girls. A question that we ask ourselves when deciding on our recommendations is: how will this impact the lives, health, dignity and wellness of Black women and Girls?
